What is exactly meant by decluttering your house? In simple words, to declutter the house means to remove all the things that are unused and taking up space in our rooms, on the shelves, on countertops, and basically anywhere in our entire living space.

Declutter your Bedroom

You can start with your bedroom as it provides you the much-needed relaxation when you are tired and done for the day. Perhaps, decluttering your bedroom would make it appear more spacious and tidy, enabling you to relax better. Almost every person ends up gathering a lot of clothing over the years.

Remove all the old, unused bed sheets, curtains, clothes, undergarments, etc from your almirahs, trunk, wardrobe, etc. This will free up a lot of space in your room automatically. For added convenience, you can also use shelf and cupboard organizers, hangers, etc.

 

Declutter your Kitchen

If you search your kitchen carefully, you could end up finding a lot to get rid of. Things such as old containers, old pickle bottles, unused utensils, damaged appliances such as toasters, ovens, mixer-grinder, broken/damaged cutlery, etc should be discarded.

If possible, try to get bad electrical appliances fixed. If it doesn’t work out, make sure to remove them from the kitchen. There could also be old pressure cookers and damaged non-stick pans, etc that you don’t use. If your kitchen doesn’t have drawers, cabinets, etc, you can plan to have them installed during the next renovation.

Declutter your Bathroom

Decluttering your bathroom is comparatively easier than most of the other rooms in your house. This is because, in most houses, people keep fewer objects. So, what would you ensure?

Declutter your bathroom by removing the old toothpaste tubes, old toothbrushes, loofahs, empty shampoo bottles, empty bathroom cleaning agents, etc.

 

Declutter your Living Room

 

The living room is probably the most decorated in most houses. That’s because it is the first thing visible to guests. Nobody likes to give an impression of being disorganized at first sight. But even then, you can check if the decorative items are in good condition and tuck away remotes or other gadgets in drawers and cupboards when not in use.

Declutter your living room by discarding old curtains or upholstery if they are damaged, and most importantly remove get rid of unwanted furniture.

 

Declutter your Kid’s Room

Kid rooms are likely to be the most cluttered rooms of all.  Take out extra time to sort out the broken toys, old video games, dirty clothes, damaged pens, crayons, etc.

 

Cleaning is a tedious task in general. In case you are planning to declutter and renovate together, the work gets doubled or quadrupled. But don’t stress yourself over it.
